Gas batch fryer machines are essential equipment for frying French fries, whole-grain bread sticks, coated peanuts, tofu puffs and various snack foods. We recently completed a successful delivery of a gas batch fryer to a client in Serbia.Our Serbian food manufacturing client specializes in processing a wide range of fried granular snacks, including coated peanuts(snack pellets,/cereal-based balls) corn kernels and chickpeas. To meet their high-volume production demands, they selected our industrial gas batch fryer as their processing equipment. This gas batch fryer has a production capacity of 150–200 kg per hour; its tank measures 6.5 meters long and 600 mm wide, equipped with gas heating that supports palm oil or sunflower oil as frying medium. Operators can freely adjust frying parameters: the working temperature ranges from 150 to 190 °C, while frying time is customizable between 6 and 10 minutes to match different snack recipes. Originally, the client planned a complete integrated production line consisting of immersion mesh belt fryer, tumble seasoning machine and cooling machine to form a one-stop processing workflow. Restrained by limited upfront budget, they finalized the purchase of the gas batch fryer for their current production expansion and confirmed plans to place follow-up orders for the remaining supporting machines later.This blog will discuss the features and advantages of this gas batch fryer.

1. Gas Fire Row VS Gas Burner

For large-volume production, gas-powered fryers are the first choice, with two different gas heating configurations for selection.The gas heating system supports two optional configurations: industrial gas burner and gas fire row assembly.By contrast, industrial gas burner equipped with oil-immersed heating pipes realizes 360° full heat absorption, greatly improving gas efficiency. The same amount of gas can heat oil from 20°C to 80°C, saving significant fuel costs. Our Serbia client customized the imported Riello forced draft burner, which delivers stable, efficient and safe heating performance for long-term mass production.

2. Imported Riello Gas Burner

The burner heats the pipes, which are immersed in oil within the tank. All heat around the pipes is absorbed, resulting in higher gas utilization and cost savings. It is safe to use, preventing fires and protecting the pot. The Serbian customer requested Riello gas burners, which are forced-draft gas burners. Their core working principle involves forced airflow via a fan, mixing gas and air in a specific ratio within the burner head before ignition, achieving efficient and stable heat output to heat the oil tank. It features leak detection, flame malfunction reset, and over-temperature/over-pressure protection, complying with safety standards such as EN676.Matched with a 3.3m³/h high-flow oil pump, the 1200mm standard gas batch fryer model has a 600L oil capacity and only consumes 3–4kg of gas per hour at 160°C, achieving energy-saving and efficient production.

3.Intelligent Control Panel

The integrated control panel integrates all functional switches, including feeding lifting/reset, tilting basket control, stirring speed adjustment, oil pump switch, heating control and emergency stop button. Temperature setting is simple and efficient: press the setting button to activate the adjustment mode, modify tens and units digits, and confirm to lock parameters. All equipment operating status is displayed through indicator lights, allowing new operators to master operation quickly without professional training.


4. PT100 Over-temperature Protection Device

The gas batch fryer is equipped with a high-precision Pt100 temperature sensor and intelligent temperature control system. When the oil temperature exceeds the set temperature by 30°C, the device will trigger an audible alarm and automatically cut off gas supply and heating. For example, the over-temperature limit is 180°C at a set 150°C frying temperature, and 190°C at 160°C. The standard configuration meets most factory safety requirements, with an independent display thermostat available as an extra upgrade for ultra-high-standard production scenarios.

5. Auto Feeding & Discharging

Our gas batch fryers support upgraded automatic feeding devices to replace manual feeding. The electric lifting feeding structure automatically stops at the preset frying height for accurate feeding, reducing labor costs. For discharging, electric and hydraulic tilting modes are optional. The optimized discharge outlet height and angle can be perfectly connected with subsequent de-oiling, seasoning and packaging equipment, realizing seamless docking of automated production lines and improving overall production efficiency.

6.Uniform Frying & Anti-Adhesion

The mixing arms can be selected based on the material being processed. Our Serbian customer produces coated peanuts (snack pellets/cereal-based balls), corn kernels, and chickpeas (lebles), so a mesh mixing arm is used to facilitate material passage and even mixing.The mesh-like perforated structure does not block the oil, allowing hot oil to circulate freely through the mesh. The oil temperature inside the pot is stable with no low-temperature blind spots, ensuring that the food is heated evenly and preventing issues such as localized burning, undercooked interiors, or uneven browning.  If you want to produce potato chips, a plate-shaped mixing arm is more suitable to effectively prevent the chips from breaking.The speed of the stirring arm can be adjusted on the control panel to suit different materials.

7.Customizable Fry Basket

The fry basket is the core carrier that holds food during full-submersion frying, and we offer fully customizable mesh fineness to perfectly match various granular snacks processed by our Serbian customer. For coated peanuts, chickpeas, corn kernels and cereal snack pellets, we adopt 4mm dense small-aperture mesh baskets to stop tiny particles from leaking into the oil tank, avoiding material waste and oil contamination.

8. Oil Circulation & Filtration & Storage

This gas batch fryer can achieve different oil circulation modes by controlling different valves: First,the oil circulates through the oil filter tank and fryer. Second, the oil is drawn into the oil tank through the oil filter tank. Third, the oil is drawn from the oil tank into the fryer.This facilitates long-term purification of oils and significantly extends the shelf life of edible oils. The operation is divided into independent segments, with production, oil storage, and oiling processes not interfering with each other.

9. Insulation Layer

We incorporated an insulation layer between the inner fryer and the outer safety shield, significantly reducing heat loss and energy consumption. All insulation material is completely encased in a single piece of stainless steel. This all-stainless steel shell tightly wraps around the internal insulation layer without gaps, preventing the insulation from loosening or deforming under prolonged high temperatures. Many manufacturers on the market do not use all stainless steel sheets, which will cause the material to peel off later.The stainless steel shell offers excellent oil, rust, and wear resistance, making the insulation structure more robust and durable. Furthermore, the smooth, all-metal surface is resistant to oil stains, allowing for quick and easy cleaning after each shift.

10.Motor Protective Cover

All driving motors for feeding, discharging and stirring are equipped with fully sealed protective covers. The main function of the protective cover is to prevent water from splashing in when cleaning and rinsing equipment, and to facilitate cleaning.And the cover structure isolates oil fume, water vapor and food debris, preventing motor aging and damage, prolonging equipment service life, and fully meeting international food processing hygiene and safety standards. This subtle but critical design avoids frequent motor failures in humid and fume-filled workshop environments.

11. 304 Stainless Steel Body

Durable material configuration ensures long-term stable operation. The whole gas batch fryer adopts food-grade 304 stainless steel: 3mm thick plate for the frying pot, 1.2mm thick plate for the outer shell, and 60*60*2 square tube frame for stable load-bearing and anti-deformation. A thickened insulation layer is installed between the pot body and outer guard, and fully covered with stainless steel plates. This design effectively reduces heat loss, lowers energy consumption, and prevents high-temperature scalds for operators.

12. CE Certification & Export Qualification

13.Maintenance & Spare Parts

To ensure long-term stable operation, we provide standardized maintenance guidelines: fasten electric box terminals every 1–2 months, lubricate feeding and discharging bearings monthly, grease movable parts every two weeks, fasten connecting hooks every 3–5 days, and replace reducer gear oil annually. Each gas batch fryer is delivered with complete standard spare parts, including Pt100 probe, contactor, relay, fuses and switch buttons, greatly reducing after-sales maintenance costs.
